You can consume food in public transports

Yes, you read it right, you can drink you frappe in the subway and they will not fine you S$500 or eating donuts on buses will not end you up in the police station. However, that being said, please refrain from eating food that may have strong smell such as Kimchi or food that may be hard to eat in a moving environment such as noodles in a soup. Of course, you have to be socially responsible and clean up after yourself if you drop or spill anything. My general advice is not to eat on buses as buses in Korea can be very jerky and not to eat in subways as it is often crowded. You can feel free to consume your food safely on railway trains or KTX/bullet trains. This is because these two modes of transport have your own dedicated seats and tables. In fact, for KTX/bullet trains, there will be this person that pushes carts with food around for you to purchase and consume on the train. They are usually simple snacks such as hard boiled eggs or dried squid.

Download Naver Maps

Google Maps or for those who use Apple products, Apple Maps, will not get you anywhere in Korea. This is because the maps are often very outdated and not detailed. There are many reasons behind this but one of the reasons is because Koreans don't use Google that much in the first place and instead, we use Naver (often known as Korean Google) and that will be where all the latest updates will be. It is tried and tested, I had tried to find a place on Google Maps and it often does not show up and even if it does, the way there is not the most efficient way. If you plan to only go to landmarks and tourist places, Google Maps may work fine for you. BUT!!! That's not the reason why we are going to Korea. Simply go to your App Store or Google Play and look for "Naver Maps". It should be in English and will be easy to use. It even tells you which exits to exit from for subway stations.

Toilets

If you realised, in Singapore, the toilets in MRT stations are located outside the gantry. This means that once you tap in to board the train, you are unable to access the toilet. However, for Korea, the toilets in subways are located inside, after you tap in.
